Frances Spencer was honored Thursday, July 28, 2022, with the Baker Rotary Club Service Above Self Award for a period that coincided with her first full year as a Rotarian. Frances has more than 30 years’ experience in journalism and media specialties, and she provides media and marketing support to the Mike Walker Real Estate team.
As an independent contractor and consultant, Frances has worked with organizations and publications on special events, technology integration, patient education and marketing campaigns. As an award-winning journalist, she attained state and national distinctions in writing, design, and online editing/management. In addition to news positions at four metro dailies, she helped lead the print-broadcast convergence efforts as the first managing editor of the 2theadvocate.com news site.
Frances enjoys community outreach and working with non-profit organizations and small business clients.
